Swedish fire (Finnish flaming torches, Swedish torches, garden torches)

The Swedish fire is a rustic-romantic light and heat source, ideal for each garden party and barbecue. With the individuality of each bole and the diversity of manufacturing techniques, the ignition of one of these fires is a new experience.

Our Swedish fires show the following characteristics:

We make Swedish fire from dried softwood with a remaining moisture content of 20% max. The advantage is that the fire ignites easily and the burn-off is without any annoying formation of smoke. There is a scorch aid between the grooves allowing a comfortable ignition. Swedish fires have a diameter of approx. 20 cm and a height of approx. 60 cm. The comparatively large boles can be transported quite well by the carrying strap without getting dirty.

Combustion and glow times are about 3-5 hours. In the course of the burn-off temperatures of 1000–1200°C develop in the inner bole. Flying sparks can occur. Because of that it is advisable to look for a suitable place and to remove all highly inflammable circumjacent objects before ignition.

Once the fire is fully burnt down, a bottom plate with 4 small side stumps will remain that can be burnt with the next bonfire or disposed with organic waste.
